At McIntosh Trail Early Childhood Development Council, we believe every child deserves a strong start. Our Early Head Start and Head Start Pre-School programs provide quality early learning experiences that prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Head Start Pre School is a federally funded program serving children from low-income families. It promotes school readiness through education, health, nutrition, and family engagement.
• Developmentally appropriate activities supporting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
• Nutritious meals and snacks daily
• Safe indoor & outdoor play environments
• Services for children with disabilities
• Parent and community involvement opportunities
Eligibility:
• Child must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1 of the school year
• Operates on the regular school system calendar (hours vary by county)
Since 1965, Head Start has served over 15.3 million children and families, making it one of the most impactful preschool programs in the nation.
Pre-Kindergarten
Georgia Lottery Funded – Free for Families
McIntosh Trail’s Pre-K program prepares four-year-olds for kindergarten by focusing on early literacy, math, science, art, and social skills.
Must reside in one of the counties served, meet established income guidelines and satisfy age requirements.
